Transitions
June 26, 2010
Transitions, we all go through them – big and small. The last ten years of my life have been filled with transitions. Moves, births, relationships, ailments, career moves, you name it. There are not many people who go through life not transitioning. My life right now is full of transitions.
- I quit my day job.
- My family and I have left Denver, and moved to Seattle.
- I have been accepted to the University of Washington’s Graduate School.
- I have a brand new website.
I want to talk about the new website, as it is something I have been working on for months. I have transitioned out of hiring a web designer to help me create a site to showcase my work. Months have gone into planning, organizing, and bringing to fruition the site you see before you today. I didn’t do it entirely on my own. My dear friend Stephanie Gardner of Sgardnerdesign designed my brilliant new logo. My wonderful boyfriend, Craig helped me pick and choose through hundreds of images to present to you. Jen Norwood, Simone Cook, Lasheita Sayer, Cenzi all gave me direction as I shared the birth of the website, and Jason Staten who helped me with my slide-show issues. The new website provides many new features that my last site did not. Some of the things I’m excited about:
- I will now be able to give clients private viewing galleries that are password protected, and clients can order prints directly from the site.
- In the birth photography section, check out the slide-shows, they will definitely tug on your heart strings.
- Press! In the ‘press box section,’ I posted links to sites online where my work has been featured.
- Personal Projects. I have been working on several projects for the past few years, links to those projects are here on the site.
- Testimonials. Props from several clients.
Moving back to Seattle and attending graduate school is both exciting and nerve wracking. My family is happy and sad. A mix of emotions, which is of course, to be expected. Thank you Denver for letting me capture your moments on film, I have enjoyed watching couples get married, new babies being born, and children growing up. I have captured moments, been part of ceremonies, witnessed historical events, and shared the stage with many musicians. I would like to mention some families who have been faithful friends and clients as I’ve grown as a photographer.
- Shannon, Paul, Mackenna and Jamison Daley.
- Angela, Shane and Calvin Higgins
- Debbie, Bob and Alex Johson
- Norma, Genesis, and Denise Mejia
- Dr. and Mrs. Small
- Kim, Amber, Brandi and Cody Roundtree
- Katherine, Ryan and Hannah Sandlin
- Gary, Elizabeth and Marcus Willette
There are so many people I’ve worked with, appreciate, and will miss. Thanks Denver for your business, your support, and friendship.
I hope you’ll take some time to check out the site and all it is home to, and let me know what you think. You can find me here, there and everywhere.
Seattle, I have arrived!
